Major league free agents will test the market

This year's pool of free agents have chosen to test the market rather than resign deals with their current clubs. 12 players, including Colorado's Michael Cuddyer (who recently agreed to a $21 million offer with the Mets), Detroit's Victor Martinez and Toronto's Melky Cabrera, declined qualifying offers last week, preferring instead to see what the rest of Major League Baseball has to offer.

Said union head Tony Clark, "I expect free agent compensation will be an important part of bargaining in 2016, as it has been over our entire history."

More of the free agent process can be found here.
