Millions will be gathered around their televisions this Sunday to watch the Denver Broncos take on the Seattle Seahawks. It's sure to be a great game as the top offensive team and the top defensive team go head-to-head. But not all of the viewers are just tuning in for the game. Super Bowl parties, food, half-time show, and over course the commercials. Over the past decade the Super Bowl commercials have drawn a larger audience to tune in.
Viewers have high expectations to be entertained by commercials during the Super Bowl. And with the cost of ad spaces running in the millions for a 30 second slot, advertisers are becoming more creative to get the most out of their spot. We have to wonder, what is the return on investment for such a quick spot for an un-godly amount of money?
In the past few years we've seen advertisers take a new approach to connect with viewers. Advertisers like Budweiser, have started to "leak" their commercials days prior to the event. Leaking commercials on the internet gives the commercial the opportunity to become viral before its even shown on TV. This also serves as a competitive advantage by not getting lost in the shuffle of all the big commercials happening during the game.
