A Break From Sports for Breaking Bad [Spoiler Alert]

This is obviously a sports blog but I can't not post about the Breaking Bad Finale last night.

First off.... Bravo.

Too often, our favorite series' get stale or disappoint with a sub-par or unsatisfying ending. This was not so on AMC last night. With just an hour and fifteen minutes left to wrap up the series, it seemed impossible. But Vince Gilligan and company got it done, providing a resolution for all of the characters. Walt dies where he loved being the most, after going out with a bang...or lots of bangs. His genius was put to work as he managed to take out Uncle Jack and the entire crew, with a beautiful opportunity left for Jesse to finally dispose of Todd, which was definitely satisfying. It was also great to see Walt save Jesse after everything that had happened.

My only complaint is, the evidence left behind. Jesse has fingerprints all over the gun and the lab...and while he is shown happily getting away, as most fans wanted, it seems things are neatly wrapped up for him. Hopefully he gets out of town and starts over. Additionally, you have to wonder if the cops find the DVD of Jesse talking to Hank and everything comes out. But that is all up to each fan!

It's sad to see the series go, but at least we appear to have the "Better Call Saul" spinoff to look forward to with the tremendous Bob Odenkirk. Can't wait for that.
